She called four times in ten minutes! What the heck?

My daughter is 9. She has a friend that lives around the corner that is 11. My daughter was here at the house playing with another friend who is also 11. The girl that lives around the corner from us was mad at my daughter for playing with the other girl and she called my house four times to complain. Before my daughter hung up the phone on her, the girl that she was on the phone with told my daughter that she was going to do something to the jacket that we had just bought for her. When I found this out I told my daughter to go around the corner to get the jacket as it is new and I can't afford to get her another one should her friend tear it up or what not. What the heck is wrong with this girl? She is older than my daughter 2 years and she acts like a total baby. Why? Because she did not like my daughter playing with this other girl? Is she jealous? Anyway..normally I don't get involved in the childish squabbles between my kids and their friends but I was not going to let this other girl damage the jacket I just bought. Has anyone else had someone call their house so many times like that just to argue?

I hope the girl did not do anything bad to the jacket... kids that age are so prone to rivalries and jelousies... and since your daughter is only 9 years old... it is quite difficult for her to take sides yet... since she is still too young... and her friend is already in the puberty stage... I guess the best thing is to talk to the parents of the girl... or let your daughter understand the consequences of being friends with her...

No thank goodness. I had my daughter go around the corner to get it. She brought her other friend with her. The other girl made my daughter and her other friend stand at the door for awhile before giving back the jacket. ugh!

Shes still to young to really know, but I would definitely talk to her and her parents.

You are probably correct. She may not even know herself.

I would have went to the friends house and spoke to her parents about what was going on. I had a friend of my daughters call and was fussing over the phone and normally like you I let them work it out however this was getting out of hand when she was threatening my daughter. I called the friends home and spoke to her mother and went to the school and explained what was going on and eventually it worked it self out.
