This Discussion is For Those of You Who Make Videos With Your Digital Camera... |
|
I tried this discussion awhile back but people kept thinking I was talking about regular digital photos. I am talking about VIDEOS made with digital cameras. Right now I have all my videos stored on Photobucket so I can share them with family members, especially my grandkids' grandpa. The problem is, my account is full. What I really want is to find out the least expensive way to save my videos to cd or dvd so that the sound works with the video. But in the meantime, I need someplace online to upload videos so I can keep sharing them with the family. Does anyone know of a place that does this for free like photobucket?
Please do not answer if you are only talking about uploading photos. I have those at my kodak gallery that came with my camera. This is only for video storage. Thanks for all the help you can offer.

capirani (941) | 1 year ago | Does this program keep the sound? Videos from digital cameras use quicktime format, .mov style formats and those do not burn to CD's or DVD's and keep the sound. The software that comes with the cameras does not accomodate that problem so I have been told I have to find a program that will convert the videos to a better format such as .avi format. I definitely am not well off enough to buy up programs that might not work for what I need them for. I downloaded a program recently...the free version, only to find out that to even try it out on my videos, it will leave a watermark on my videos since it was a free download. So I am probably not going to try that one since I don't want my videos ruined with a stupid watermark.

Convert it first to an AVI format using Rad Video tools ( http://download.videohelp... ), then once converted, you can then directly burn it into VCD or DVD format using Nero. Or if you want to compile small videos into one continous file, you can edit it through Windows Movie Maker. But like I said, convert your .mov files first into AVI format.

capirani (941) | 1 year ago | I have downloaded AVS Video Converter. This is the one that leaves the watermark since I downloaded the free version. Do you know anything about this program? It does convert to .avi. Have you done this before and know for sure that .avi will keep the sound intact once burned to CD or DVD? Do I need to use a special program like you suggested Nero to burn the CD or DVD? I am so confused by all of this.

spoiledbrat802 (3595) | 1 year ago | I totally forgot to mention that Nero recognizes .MOV formats so you can burn directly your video files into a VideoCD format or a DVD format without the need of converting it first into .avi format. Best of all, you can add titles and subtitles to your videos, and it doesn't leave any watermarks at all. If you have a CD-Writer or a DVD-Writer drive, chances are, it came bundled with a NERO Suite CD software package. Just look for the CD that came along with your PC. If you can't find it or it wasn't provided to you by your retailer, you can download a free trial version of Nero 9 at nero.com. I think the trial version only allows you to use it for 30 days, but still that's enough time to burn your video files into CDs or DVDs.

capirani (941) | 1 year ago | You didn't mention....does Nero keep the sound intact? I can burn my videos to CD from my camera software, but the sound won't keep. Without the sound, all those cute things the grandkids are saying and doing just don't mean a lot on the CDs.

capirani (941) | 1 year ago | Wow! Nero 9 is expensive. Even if I use the trial version it would only be temporary which would take care of previous videos. But I need something for the future videos. I sure can't afford a program that costs that much. I was hoping there would be something out there that is free. The one I have is free, but it has that watermark. I haven't tried it so maybe the watermark isn't so bad. One of these days I will try it with a test video made just for that reason and see what happens. I bookmarked the Nero site though in case I come up with that kind of money down the road sometime.
