Do you need college credits to become a Firefighter in FDNY?

I know you need 60 college credits to become police officer for NYPD (which is STUPID and makes no sense because they got their own POLICE ACADEMY!!!!), but what about firefighters in the FDNY? I would imagine not, I mean of course they've got their own Fire Academy and plus, what the heck would you go to college for firefighting anyway???
