Well yesterday after doing errands and doing some awesome thrifting I came home in hopes to watch my satellite as I rarely keep my weekends off from work and I rarely get to watch movies lately....I turn it on and of course the satellite signal was lost. So I called up my local video store to make sure they were open (I live in a rural area where everything shuts down before 9 pm.) and off I went.
Well, this is besides the point of the movie but never again will I rent there...You can call me cheap or whatever but they charged $3 no matter the movie for one night...and their new arrivals I have seen on my satellite (again I do not watch it that often. But what can I expect form a dry cleaning/gym/video/tanning bed store. Right?
Anyhow the movie is a Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei and Ethan Hawke drama. And I have to say in an oddly describing way it was good. But then again Hoffman does very well in off the wall characters....this was not a pleasing character. But overall it was a good movie. Kinda left you wondering at the end. And it is a very violent movie in terms of a lot of death and violence and apathetic attitude to other people.
I have to admit at one point I was thinking "my God will it stop." And I am not one to go into heavy detail over movies as I do not want to ruin any movie goers experience. So I say go ahead and rent this one if you are in the mood for a movie that will neither inspire you nor fulfill your gore fest. It is simply a movie about some disturbed individual who was once a normal guy who for certain reasons dragged a lot of not so innocent and innocent lives throught the wringer.
If anything you will appreciate the fact that at the end of the day you say say "hey at least I am not that guy." And your life seems so much better.
So maybe it was a bit inspiring.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had heard it was a quirky kind of flick but I've haven't read any reviews on it other than somebody slobbering all over Hoffman and his performance.
