Can anyone tell me what it is about Obama that mylotters do not seem to like?

I am from the UK and I do not really understand US politics. From what I have been reading on mylot people do not seem to be very impressed by Obama. What is wrong with him? Can you tell me about the difference between the Republicans and the Democrates?
