What do I say to a friend w/ teens

She has a 14yo & a 16yo. The 16yo also just delivered a child this summer! And she's always venting to me constantly about what mischief these kids are into. She's even said she's soo mad about the 16yo's behavior tward taking care of her child that she's bout ready to call cps ect.

I don't know what she expects me to say? My oldest is 6 we are on different playing fields in raising our kids KWIM? I don't know what she thinks I"m supposed to say other than I"m sorry she's dealing w/ this or that & they are giving her such a hard time.

I did give her MIL some of my DS who's 9mo older than her grandson some things but when I mentioned my DS's car seat being almost expired she's hounding me for it.
Now, it's expired the plastic won't withstand a crash as good. But I know she has a carrier as MIL bough S a carrier when baby was born why is she after mine? She doesn't even drive either. I plan on keeping it thru winter just for when DS is sick w/ a cold to keep him propped up as long as he still fits decently in it & then tossing it.
