Will Any Politician Listen

On Oct 2nd the Global Cannabis Commission released their report aimed at getting the UN to have a serious discussion about marijuana. The report basically recommends that countries ignore or back out of existing drug treaties in order to legalize regulate and tax cannabis. They state that drug policy should be based on scientific study and sociological study of the harms of prohibition vs the dangers a drug pass. Current drug laws do not stand up to this scrutiny and as such should be repealed. I wonder with so many studies out there already, will this one make much of a difference? Will politicians listen to these scientists who write a very compelling report, or will they sweep it under the rug and dish out more anti marijuana propaganda.
