what are you afraid of?

everyone has something that they are afraid of. mine are spiders. childish, you say. but ever since i watched arachnophobia as a kid (it's showing on a cable channel this sunday, and even though it makes my skin crawl, i think i'm gonna watch it 
), i have developed this fear of spiders, bordering on a phobia. 
it would be understandable if not everybody are willing to reveal what they are afraid of, in order to avoid others knowing what to scare them with. but for the sake of discussion, (and after all, we all don't know each other personally, do we? , what are you afraid of?

Well, lets see. I am afraid of spiders, crickets, tornadoes, earthquakes, being alone. I am afraid of the dark a little bit. Thanks to my fiance and all the scary movies we watch. I am afraid of my children not having a great childhood. There are many other things, but too many too mention.

i think in my case, afraid is not the term with respect to my child having a happy childhood. more like concerned. i do what i can to make her childhood as pleasant as possible, so i guess if you do the same, there would really be no reason to fear

I am also an arachnophobia, but now I am conquering it little by little. I am so afraid of spiders specially the big ones that stay in the bathroom. when I see on it will take time before I had the courage to go near the bathroom again. I remember once when a big spider crawled in our house, I was shouting and crying, and that was just a mild reaction. when I was in high school it was worst, I nearly faint when a friend made a joke on me and gave a small spider. But now when I see spiders on the bathroom I try hard to just ignore them. You say it will be shown on cable TV? what channel? let's see if I will have the courage to watch it.
Another thing that I am afraid of is hurting my love ones. and or my love ones being hurt may it be natural phenomenon or accidents. I don't want them, specially my kids to get hurt.

oh c-r-a-p. i think it was on star movies. i forgot what it was exactly, sorry. it was just in passing when i saw the commercial for it. i'll ask my sister later. i hope it has not run yet. hee hee. but if we missed it already, you can rent it on dvd or something. just for the heck of it. Halloween is nearing. maybe you can get a kick out of watching it in the eve of November 1. awwoooo!!!

Well, spiders are a definate for me as well. I also use to be scared of snakes, but I've gotten over it and even had one for a pet before. I think they are the coolest thing.
Now one of my strange fears will probably make most people laugh, but whatever. I have a fear of latex gloves. Not like the yellow ones used for cleaning and such, but the kind doctor's use. Seeing someone put those things on creeps me out. But I'm not scared of doctors. Weird. Maybe I put all the fear of doctors into the gloves instead? Who knows.
I have a friend who is afraid of garden gnomes. She thinks they are creepy little buggers.
