Why are women so fascinated about shoes and bags?

Sorry ladies, but I can't help but ask this question. I know you like shopping (generally speaking), but why shoes and bags in particular? I mean, guys only need a pair or two of shoes and that's about it. But in your case, you tend to have a "collection" (Imelda Marcos is an extreme example, though). So, kindly share your views about this.
