Have you guys ever tried to read those? Anyways since I've been alarmed with someone's concern over discussions, I've tried reading the stuff. And man was I shocked! I thought commenting on everyone's responses on my discussion(with a thank you note) was a good thing, but it's included in the don't area! And I never knew I was violating those stuffs. Scary. I'll try to carry on with the myLot experience, but I'll be more careful from now on. I'll stand by the do's and dont's as much as possible. Heehee. How about you guys? have you been concerned with your actions here in mylot? Heehee.

I've read the do's and dont's more than once, and I sometimes read them again, to see if something has changed or when someone posts a question about them, to quote the exact answer. I think everyone should read them. It would save us the hundreds of discussions on a certain number of discussions reached, or birthdays, or touching a topic already discussed over and over again.

I support this don't, I mean that button says "comment", not "say thanks". If people don't have anything to comment, why write something anyway? If you really really want to thank someone, you can always send them a PM and thank them as much as you can

Yeah, I think so too. It will save us time and save the admin's time as well. Kind of like our piece of help for the myLot community. I just don't have enough time in a day to do all of this, good thing I did now. Ok back to work. Thanks for the response(I really wonder why this goes down in the dont, it's just a way of paying respect in a nice way, or maybe their referring to the "thank you come again" kind of note...)

Yeah, but I mean I do thank you's with a comment. It's not always that I do thank you come again notes(but I do sometimes, guilty pleasure). So I support this if the intention of the poster is to just thank the person and not say anything about the response (anyways if you want to pay respect or something say something about the post too, otherwise it's like you didn't even read the response, and the thanks note is rather in vain than effective.)

Then after I read it the response to my discussion, I should just ignore it and not write anything? To all of them?

Oh no no no...it just says there that it will not help in the earnings, but I still practice it as a way of courtesy. I was referring to all of those written in the don't part and not just that one issue. Have a nice day, and thank you.

oh is that true? saying thank you was not a good thing? I better read the don't s and do's. But to think of it there is nothing wrong saying thank you. Maybe you just misinterpreted what you have read. Anyway this alarms me that i should be aware of the rules here in myLot. :D

I did not misinterpreted it, it's just that I made that an example and I was referring to all the don'ts when I said I was violating those...the thank you is a don't simply because it is in the context that you only put a "thank you" on the comment and not talk about the response, and therefore does not add to the earnings. It's not that bad, just don't do it for the purpose of making more earnings, I think that was the case there. Anyways have a nice day.

Yeah, I thought 'thankyou for your response' was good too till I read those! It does make the discussion more interesting if someone leaves a more meaningful response but I don't really mind if people don't respond to my response really I try and follow the guidelines and when in doubt, I check them first..

Well good for you! It's always nice for people to kind of read those first. I'm one to admit that I don't have a very organized time in a day and so even those little details such as reading the guidelines is a hard thing for me to maintain. Thanks for enlightening me with inspiration. Have a nice day.

I have read those for quite so many times already since I have been here. And I am always trying to keep them in mind while I make posts. However, I still experienced deleted posts, most of which are discussions I have responded to. Now I am more careful on which discussions to respond to. Have a nice day!

well dear it is written that i will not help you in earning more and not that you be banned for it. i hope i got it right and i read all the do and dont's on the second day as i came across a discussion which said that someone's discussion was deleted and was not happy. then i gave some thought to read the TOS and now i am more careful. it is always advised to read the TOS before joining as "prevention is better then cure" but i missed it this time but no harm done. good luck

Yeah, but still it's a don't. I wonder why. But I don't think of the earnings when I do that, so I guess that's a justifiable cause right? Anyways thank you(here I go again) for the response. Yes prevention is really better than cure but what if there's no prevention?(in this part I am trying to ask the question in an off-topic realistic setting, heeehee) Have a nice day!

I read them all the time. People are always violating the rules, some because they just don't know, so I'm always going to the rules and copying that portion that applies and I'll put it into my response. Some people just don't care and are here to SPAM only. Those I ignore or report.

Oh...well, I guess I should be more scared of you than the rules now...Heehee. Just kidding. Yeah SPAMMERS, those I hate. And those who copy-paste responses. Have a nice day.

I guess I don't see the scary part of it. I comment on virtually all responses because it's common courtesy to acknowledge that those people took the time to respond. Plus, it's not much of a DISCUSSION if you're not discussing, is it? It doesn't matter to me if it doesn't help my earnings. It's a courtesy and respect issue.

Oh yeah, another one. Like I said in my previous comments, I wasn't just talking about the "thank you comments" I was referring to the whole list, which a couple of them I always do and might endanger my membership. In fact, I still put thank you comments around because like I said also, it's a way of courtesy. I'm sorry if you're also confused about the way I delivered the topic, sounding like I'm only talking about the "thank you comments". Anyways have a nice day.

This (saying thank you to comments being against the "rules") was pointed out a while ago. Personally, as a 56 year old who was taught to say thank you, I don't think I'll be changing my habits about that.

Yeah, this maybe is one don't that I'll still do. I don't care if I don't earn on this, I'll say what I want and put a thank you note as I always do. I just feel like it's justifiable. Thanks, have a nice day.
