Will the worldwide Economic crisis increase suicide rate or crime ?

Just yesterday i saw in the newspaper that one Indian American kills his whole family cos of his financial crisis & yet he's good decent guy as reported, perhaps he wasn't able carry the gravity of the situation.
So this kind of crisis seems to be inevitably followed by this kind of unwanted situations ....
So you think Econ crisis & suicide rate or crime are correlated?
& will it exacerbated the situation?

Yes. I think is highly correlated as economic crisis will lead to depression or anxiety or panic disorder with some breadwinners. However, religion, support and principle values play very important role here. During the past recession history, they are stories of people who are very determined to live through although may endure hardships because they are strong in religion and responsibilities. Killing yourself and even family is really not the way to run away from this. However, friends and families must always be there to support each other so that the situation is not as terrible.
