Virgin mobile marbl phone will not charge?

I plug the phone into the charger a hour glass displays for a few minutes then a message appears; phone is off. Is the phone charging now or not? Or is there something wrong with it.

I've had several types of Virgin Mobile Phones and each one has a light somewhere that lights up to indicate it is charging. If it doesn't, if I hit a button, it would tell me it was charging. Hope that helps you!

The screen lites up; but it all it says is phone is off, and I have no idea if its charging or not. Thanks for your help.

Then it's not charging. Hit up dollar stores to see if they have a charger. If not, buy a new phone. Chargers cost nearly as much as the phones I found out the hard way. Eeps!
