An answer to those who would make us hate and fear each other... on both sides

Yesterday, I was getting all steamed up as I had been hearing about those from the other party bashing people in my party, name calling, saying that the leaders were "not like us" etc.
There are plenty of people out there who will now try to get your vote by attempting to turn you against other people in your community, and against other people in the world...
And yet they are all, on both sides, feeding you a boat load of something bad and toxic as the fragmentation and division between us is counter-productive and is destructive to this nation and frankly is destructive to our souls as well...
So to remedy this, I thought I would share something non-political that speaks the truth... as we are all on one level one people...
It is a song from Celtic Woman and is called: One World

We all have different and unique perspectives... But that does not make us less than others or bad...
One of my teachers, Little Crow, Carl Bryant, described all of life as being part of the same Sacred Hoop or circle... so I picture us all standing at different places on a circle.
The one who is next to me, may share my positions on many issues. I may have nothing at all in common politically with the one who is across from me... Yet we are all part of the same human family, and are all alike and equal in our creation or formation as human beings.
The fact that we do not always see eye to eye is understandable and should be tolerated... It is impossible for anyone, even my best and dearest friend who knows my heart, to know or understand my perspective fully, as there is no biological way, even if she or he climbs on top of my back, for he or she to have exactly the same view as no one else has my place on the hoop or on the circle...
It is perhaps something that we all wish was otherwise... People wish that all others would be like them...
But that is an impossibility in the world of ideas and thought forms....
But at the core of all of us, whether Democrat or Republican is a desire for better... a prayer and a hope for the good to flourish, for peace and love and kindness to prevail, for healing to begin in this land...
The human heart has its common language...
even when the talking heads utter words that seem to contradict oneness, humanity or the desires that all of us share.
This is my prayer for today:
May love prevail on Earth.
May peace begin in my heart and in yours.
Let us forge a union
based on our humanity,
recognizing our differences of opinion
and still seeing each other's goodness...
Let us hold each other harmless
and vow to harm none by our words or actions.
Love always,
Mary

we have a politician here in Australia whom I believe is the only honest politician and she only belongs to a very small party, one that is not big enough that she could have ran the country but she had a lot of influence and the two big parties were so frightened of her they both said so many untruths about her, twisted her words and set her up so she was actually put in gaol until it was proven she was innocent, and of course both of the parties that did this was not made accountable...I hate how things work in this area, why can't we all just work together, let the people pick who they want to lead but the other party just help the country run the best it can...they all should just stop the back biting...but I still think the people should also vote on the major policies as well and the party....Peace to all I say

It is a sadness that this happened in Australia.
I am here in the States and am reading and hearing a lot of nasty words about both of our presidental candidates...
And a lot of it is lies and/or half-truths or sins of omission... as in they are pointing out that the other party did something but are not saying that they did the same thing too only for different reasons...
There is a lot of fear-mongering, and a lot of trying to fan the flames of hate rather than trying to give people the peace that they need and really want...
I am with you in wanting the lying and the backstabbing and the vile hate and fear mongering to stop.
I am thinking that better can be had by working together.
It is good that people vote but holding each other harmless... believing the best of all people perhaps should be added to the mix.
Peace to all indeed.
Thanks for sharing that.
