What is your definition of Superficial-ness

Seems like she is hoping that if you all think she spent a lot of money on things then she surely must be better than you are. Sad, really. No matter what I buy or how much I paid, that's my business and not anyone elses. Now, if I get a great bargain, I might want to share that with folks. Your co-worker seems to have some life issues she isn't willing to deal with.

Good thing my family doesn't hang on the Lot...My famly member only wears name brand items. Will NEVER wear the generic. Judges people by whether they can do the same or not. I think that is superficial. I think people should not be judged by the name brand that hangs from their shoulder or their butt cheeks. Why does that define someone? It does not. Our society says you have to be hip to be anyone. I think that is wrong and try to teach my children the same thing. I have a couple handbags I have received as gifts. I would carry the knock off that looked just like it. Anyway sorry for my rant...NO I do not use money to cover issues up. It is easy to do that if you have it though. I have a friend that buys everything I have. My husband calls her my 5 oclock shadow. Some people just feel that their image-like my family members-is created off of materialistic things. I say don't let it bother you. You know what really makes up the person. I had to start laughing at it. It was too depressing otherwise.

I may not have a lot of money but when we run into extra money we may buy something we don't need. We will buy something we want but I don't tell everyone what I bought like that. I may tell a freind or a family member (if I even remember buying the item) but I don't go into detail on how much I spent. I just think it's rude to tell people that whether that person can afford those things or not. I don't say how much I spent unless my friend asks me because they were interested in buying the same thing and wanted to know.

Maybe your co-worker has other issues. What I spend is my business and no one elses. I can see telling someone about something that they were excited about buying but how much was spent doesn't need to be mentioned. I'm with you on this one...what is the point in it? I don't do that because I would feel like I would be rubbing it in someones face unless they asked.

My mother laughs at me she said I am the only person she has ever known that will broadcast how much I save lol. I have many friends that buy very expensive items, like a coach purse and they announce how much they spent, I on the other hand will find one for free or little moneys and say I only paid this much. lol
