Did you ever make homemade Halloween costumes, when you were a kid?

What costumes did you make at home? Did you like your costume and was it better than a store bought costume? Do you still make costumes for your kids?

We didn't actually sew the costumes but we did make up the gypsy and pirate and ghost costumes. Gypsies were fun cause we got permission to go through moms costume jewelry. Always fun for young girls.

We did the gypsies too. They were great because of the colors and the jewelry. It seemed like it was more fun.We didnt have to spend 40 bucks either. We all 4 helped each other when we were kids. I just wish we had more of the pictures now!

I remember being a ghost a couple years in a row as a kid. But i think it was just because we were broke. That one was easy a white sheet with two eyeholes. I also remember being a scarecrow one year because i just wore some old overalls and stuff a bunch of hay everywhere with some sticks. I think my mom liked to do that kind of thing when i was a little one so of course she always had cool ideas so we did them. I can't wait till my 11month old wants a halloween outfit that mommy will make. That'll be fun.

I remember hard times too and that is how we ended up doing the ghosts too! It was fun doing the monsters and we had a blast!I think you get better costumes that way and you dont look like everyone elses....more original!
