I recently saw, but can no longer find, a discussion accusing Obama of using his trip to Iraq to pull some political maneuvers and accusing him of treasonous behavior. I ran across this article today which states quite the opposite. I hope this sheds some light on that situation. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/10/12/obama-did-not-ask-to-delay-security-agreement-iraqi-fm-says/ Questions of this nature were raised back when Iran miraculously released the US hostages during Reagan's inauguration. Mr. Reagan didn't even GO to Iran and was accused. Why would Mr. Obama go there and set something up that would be so obvious? Or that would appear to be so obvious given our political history in that area? Anyway, are you one who believes that he made some kind of agreement with the Iraqis? Do you still believe it now? Why did you believe it? On what basis did you come to believe? Can you share a proof text with us?

I think I have to agree with Kash. With as much as the conservatives have been throwing their BS around it's hard to believe anything that comes from there.

I don't know that there was ever any evidence that showed he actualy did this. I remember the Iraq defense minister saying he did and Obama denying it. That was that. while treason is a bit strong a charge for this, uless he was directly acting against our forces or government, he could have been charged under the Logan act or perhaps even sedition, depending on what the extent and exact nature of the conversation was. Nancy Pelosi, who was BLATENTLY in violation of the logan act was never charged for it, neither was Sean Penn or Jessie jackson for their stunts. It's a law that it seems is not enforced. Perhaps it should be.
