Do people really find love on those popular dating sites?

I always see those commercials for those dating sites you know the ones were they screen you and do a personalty profile I would name them but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say, but anyway one of the reasons I dont use those sites is because you dont know how safe they really are and we hear so much about online predators and it just makes me think twice about checking those sites out. well I was just wondering do people really find love on those popular dating sites or is it just another case of false advertisement?
