A few weeks ago it was on the news that a woman who was an adpotive parent had the frozen remains of 2 little girls in a freezer in her home. They were discovered after claims that the 3rd surviving child was abused. This just baffles me. Because this lady had to go through the adoptive process. Background checks, tests, etc. so she was screened to be found a fit parent. And then the children are found in a freezer. This just sickens me SO much it's not even real! The sad part is you think these kids are getting adopted to have a better life then a foster home or orphanage and then this happens! It's so sad! What do you guys think about the system for adopting children? Do you think they should be more intense in the screening process? What should they do differently to help prevent the wrong people from becoming parents to these innocent children?

That is scary! I have found the article, which is even more morbid. http://santaclausfund.ca/News/World/article/508523 How do people like that walk the streets and we never know what's going on inside their head? I guess it should come as no surprise, there are misguided people doing horrible things all the time, whether they were screened beforehand or not. I would really like to know more about the case, but I haven't found anything else.

Was there ever mention why she did such a thing after going thru all the hoops to adopt them in the first place? Who know maybe since they were adopted something in her mind just snapped and lost it or ??? But you know there are biological parents whom just because their bodies can reproduce doesn't mean it's in the best interest of anyone.

Only a sociopath would be capable of doing this. Having said that, sociopaths are extremely good at hiding who they really are. That is in fact, one of their many character traits and what makes them so scary. I don't understand how nobody noticed these kids weren't around anymore. It's easy to say there should be a better screening process, more in-home check ups etc...but I don't know if that would really help or not. Child protective services are for all children, adopted or biological but they only know there's a problem if somebody tells them. In essence, I think the responsibilty lies with everyone. We all need to step up more to look out for all these abused and neglected children. If your neighbor has a kid and you suddenly haven't seen them for a while, ask about it. If you're not satisfied with the response, contact the authorities. Most people don't want to be nosy - but if it can save a child's life...
