Why do people have short temper when they are at a higher post in offices?

I feel that it is a boss way to get short temper when a person who is working under him as a sub ordinate and not doing the work properly or has done some big mistake.Any ways people can forgive them and treat them kindly and tell them that they have done something that affected the company rather than shouting at them.

I think it is because of the stress of the responsibility. The higher of someone's position, the more the responsibility. The harder things to bear so that the mood is really bad when the distressing situation is coming. I believe that people can still cope with the situation in the high position in the office, they only become short tempered because they have to bear bigger problems than ones who works in lower position in the office.
