Halloween is almost here, What can you remember getting for Halloween when you were a little kid that you still remember today? I have a link here to many ideas of things that can be passed out! http://hubpages.com/hub/The-trick-or-treat-dilemma--Handing-out-candy-vs-other-treats What was the most unusual thing you ever got? The most expensive? Weirdest?

I only remember getting candy for Halloween. I use to love those Baby Ruths, BB Bats, Kits, Mary Janes, the list can go on and on. Those were the good ol' days. Don't forget candied apples.

I can remember one year, Folks made home made Caramel apples rolled in crushed nuts. They tapes their name, address and phone number to each one.

It was probably around 1976, during the bicentennial, when a neighbor arranged a couple of times to have children brought to their back yard for a short speech about our country and gave out copies of the constitution reprinted on fake parchment along with some candy. One of the best times was going to a house that seemed not to be answering the door. The candy bowl was set in the lap of their scarecrow.(the scarecrow had been there several days so no one thought twice). When a kid tried to get some candy the scarecrow(recently replaced) came to life and reached for the kid roaring. The homeowner wet up quite a gimmick that year but several parents had to get the candy for their kids who shot off several houses away and refused to return faster than anyone knew that they could.
