the original sound frequencies used in Gregorian chants sung by ancient monks to Saint john the Baptist were found by Dr. Leonard horowitz while researching his book "Healing codes for the biological "Apocalypse".The Monks chanted to a peculiar scale was said to manifest great miracles and bring the Monks closer to God.

Yes, music does heal. Scientific tests have been conducted on patients when they are made to listen to western and Indian classical vocal and instrumental music and the results show that most of them respond positively and recover from their illnesses. why even plants show healthy growth when subjected to classical or good ,soft music. But if the music is harsh like heavy metal, rock and roll,or music that excites the senses then the results will be negative as the heart will beat faster, blood pressure will mount and one can then get cardiac arrest.soft music soothes the mind and the heart andalso the brain and releases certain enzymes that bring healing to the body.People suffering from mental diseases, heart patients, etc will definitely benefit from listening to good music.Music therapy is being widely practised in many hospitals all over the world.
