The pronunciation of it is min-years. Did you know it is as prevalent as MS? Did you know there are approximately 148,822 people in the USA and 16,474 in Canada that suffer from this disease? Meniere's Disease is described as the imbalance of fluid in the ears. The symptoms include: fluctuating hearing loss, vertigo attacks, and ringing in the affected ear or ears. The symptoms do not always develop at the same time. They can come on gradually. There are now specific tests for the diagnosis of Meniere's Disease. An MRI can rule out brain tumors or Multiple Sclerosis. There is no know cure. The doctors do no have a definite treatment for it either. I am trying to raise awareness to my fellow myLotters so that this disease can come out of hiding and have more people know about Meniere's Disease.
