Last wednesday was my first time! Yes! My very first time! To use the sewing machine.
Heehee! We have a sewing machine at home. It's really old. about a decade older than me. It's the one my grandma used when she was younger and had a dress shop. But it's still in good condition. Both my grandma and my mom know how to use it and have been using it to mend clothes and sew stuff. I have never touched the thing (well, i did help move it around, but you know what i mean about "not touching" the machine, hehehehe). Until last Wednesday.
Well, we have this group in the office where i'm a member of and we were assigned to decorate our area for halloween. And there's a yearly contest for the best design. So we were doing what we can. And some of our props for the design were voodoo dolls. And we had to sew it! So when i went home, i asked my mom to teach me how to use the machine. Wow! I can say that it really needs a lot of effort to coordinate my moves to operate the thing.
It took me an hour to finish one doll (not to mention i was sweating and puffing after i did the sewing)! Heehee! I could say that sewing should be considered a sport! One has to coordinate footwork (working on th pedal) with hand movements (one hand holding and quiding the cloth, the other turning the wheel), and quickness of the eyes!
Hehehehe.
How 'bout you? Ever done something for the first time? tell me all about it, i'm all ears (or eyes).

Well for a start I was never good on a sewing machine, i used to always break needles...I guess the thing I was proud about doing was building my webpage, considering i know nothing about that sort of thing..it is good when you do something for the first time...
