When do you put your Christmas decorations up?  

23&24 december they would still look lovely on christmas day which is the 25th and they would still look bright enough and attract whoever visit ya on christmas

We usually put our Christmas decorations up the first weekend in December. The tree is artificial, so no watering required and I like that. This Christmas just isn't going to be the same though. My husband has decided that he doesn't want to be married anymore, but he's staying here at the house until the first of next year. It's going to be kind of bittersweet this year I think. :( But of course, I'm going to try to make the best of it and not let it get me down too much because that wouldn't be fair to our 11 year old daughter.

I out my Christmas decorations up in the first week in December.

Many times i even put on Christmas Day. It's much more beautiful and it seems to me better. Like enjoy more and better holiday in this way ...

Although it seems a beautiful thing to decorate the tree, where I kind of mad. You need patience and mood. I'll do the family when i`m bored ...

We don't celebrate Christmas at our house; however I would join my sister in hers. Her hubby would start to get the tree up around the middle of December - her kids will be 'nagging' nonstop for the tree to be up. They will help with the decorations as far as possible - being only 3,6 and 8 years old, I think they play more than help!

Now this is a real bone of contention in the P1kef1sh household. I believe firmly in the 12 days of Christmas. i.e. 25 December to 6 January. However, I am prepared to give a little and say that our decorations can go up on Christmas Eve. BUT, our daughter who would like Christmas to last for 365 day, feels that they should go up in mid December, same time as you. She's happy to take them down on 6 January though. The Boss sides more with daughter I think. November is far too early in my opinion. As for trees. I know all the environmental arguments, but for me Christmas isn't Christmas without a good old fashioned FAKE tree! Happy Halloween and don't get me started on that! LOL.

Christmas must be wonderful with the little ones around my friend! I think Children make Christmas, all you need is a White Christmas for them to see but the chances of that happening is probably the same chance as getting all six numbers on the lottery now, sorry to digress, we tend to put the decorations up more or less the same time as you, if you put them up too early they start to droop, gather dust and lose their appeal, we always take them down on or near the twelth night. Middle of November? Yikes even when I was a small boy (eons ago now) we never put the decorations or tree up any earlier than December 1st, Advent!

I always put my Christmas tree up on the 1st of December, (or the closest weekend). I think some people put them up, staight after Halloween. I think that is to early, as it makes it too long in arriving for children. I usually let my girls help in decorating the tree also. I love Christmas. Its the best hoiliday.

Knowing our household our decorations and christmas tree won't go up until a week or so into December it's left fairly late and I remember once putting our tree up only a week or less than that before the big day. It is nice when the decorations are put up early though as it gives you a chance to enjoy them more before there all taken down again. Although after saying this anything put up too early makes christmas lose it's meaning and do find christmas is overally commercialised when compared to what it was a hundred years ago. Nowadays it's more about decorations and presents whereas back then it was about families and bringing people together to celebrate a wonderous religious event.

I use to love putting up Christmas decorations and would start the 5th of DEC. but now i dread Christmas and i do not put up Christmas decoration. My children puts up the tree whenever they feel like it ( i encourage them to wait as long as possible).
