what will you do when you get punished for the crime that you never committed.?

I am sure it would be pretty bad if you got punished for something you did not do,or blamed for something when there is no reason to blame you for it,and I agree Shawshank Redemption is a good example of that,and I know I have been falsely blamed for things in the past,and I think I have been punished for things I did not do or had nothing to do with,but if I was in a situation like in Shawshank Redemption I am not sure exactly how I would control myself,but I know I would constantly fight because I would never go down for something I did not do,not without giving one heck of a fight.
