Have you watched Rise:The Blood Hunter by Lucy Liu?

Lucy Liu is the actress who rose from being a supporting role actress to a lead actress. I first saw her in Ally McBeal as a sexy Asian staff working with Ally's law firm. She was also one of the lead actress in Charlie's Angels sequels. I've liked her on Charlie's Angels but I thought she's not good in being a single lead actress in a film when I saw this last film Rise:The Blood Hunter. She plays as a woman here who was converted to be a vampire by force and she hunted the vampires who made it like that. So simple and boring. I almost slept. Even the villains are so boring too. I do not wonder now why this film flopped. I think Lucy Liu is great given more action scenes. She just wandered around on this one. The weapon too is so simple.

ugh i saw Rise: The Blood Hunter not too long ago. thankfully i had rented it thru netflix..so didnt pay more than $1.50 when its broken down lol!
it was NOT good. like you said, quite boring at parts, nothing to make you feel "involved" or even really care for the main character. the was an incredibly lack of emotional spark with Liu i thought. sure she was supposed to be undead, but she was out for revenge right? therefore revenge and its accompany emotion, anger..were very much lacking in my opinion.
i was attracted to the movie for the same reasons you were..i saw Vampire and Lucy Liu..and it was an immediatly Gotta See That!...should have taken into consideration the fact that i never heard about it coming to the theaters..so i assume it went straight to DVD..and that is almost always a big red flag for "crappy movie".
ah well..maybe Liu just isnt a strong enough actress to pull off being the sole lead character in a movie?
the movie with both Banderas and Liu was called Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever..which i actually liked. but then again Banderas was the lead role..and Liu a secondary character..and it was pretty action packed if i remember correctly lol!
