 Can anyone tell me what to look for in someone that may have cancer? My husband is a stuburn man and will not go to the doctors. But things I have seen really worry me. About 5 years ago, I noticed a dark spot(the size of a softball) on his back. right in the middle over the spin. It looked like a big brouse. When I asked him what happened, he didn't know what I was talking about. I pushed on it and he didn't even feel me touching him. And over the last year I noticed another spot like the first appering under his shoulder blade. It starts real light and rough to the touch and over time begains to get darker. This one is under his left shoulder blade and now another is appering under the other shoulder blade. His stomic has become very hard to the touch and you would think he had a beer gut. But he doesn't drink. he hurts in the stomic all the time. He eats anti acid tablets like candy. taking 4 at a time 5+ times a day and even gets up during the night taking more or drinking soda water to releave the heart burn. I know I can't get him to go to the doctor. But could someone please tell me what I may be seeing here and how to handle things?

I don't know anything about skin cancer but you might want to google it and learn more about the symptoms.He could have gallstones or IBS or some other stomach problem also. I know when you have gallstones you have bad heartburn and stomach acid and it hurts like crazy in your stomach when you pass stones and another symptoms for gallstones is your shoulders hurting. I would suggest getting him to the doctor and getting a CT scan, gallstones can be successfully treatable if he does have them. Change his diet to more of a fiber diet and cut out greasy foods, and if he feels better because of a healthy diet change then you know it's probably gallstones.But make sure he goes to the doctor and get's checked out soon.

2.  dev21lucky (197) | 1 year ago |  cancer as such presents as loss of appetite&loss of weight.at first patient complaints are non specific.it also depends on which part of his body is affected.if u could b more specific,then i can help.r those dark spots increasing in size?his heartburn cannot be solved by his antacids,he needs omeprazole 20mg tablets once daily.u counsel him & he'll understand cause of ur worry.he might get ready 2 go 2 a doctor.makev him understand the importance of going to a doctor.

He said that he would not go and he will not tell me anymore about how he feels. Now all I can do is watch and try to figure out what is going on with him. He told my daughter one time that he would not go to the doc. because if he is dieing he doesn't want to be told that. He said everytime one of his friends have been told they only have so much time by a doc., they are dead with in weeks. | |

| dev21lucky (197) | 1 year ago | he might be having some skin disease that is treatable.u need to take him for an upper G.I. endoscopy to find about his stomach.he has to go to a doctor for treatment.otherwise one can't prescribe drugs just from history of his illness.plz convince him anyway.alternatively,u can call a doctor to your residence for his check up.do visit a doctor. | |

3.  hildas (2130) | 1 year ago |  I tried to google this for you but I came up with actinic keratoses. Go on google images and see if you can see anything that looks similar. Does or did your husband spend a lot of time in the sun with his shirt off.
I do not want to scare you but, you can have keratoses for many years before it gets serious. It is the earliest stage of skin cancer and can develope into carcinoma a deadly cancer.
Please try and get him to go to the doctor, it might not be serious but they will help.
