were having a novena prayers for the late ones, we offer them MASSES, flowers candles and visit them in the cemetery. as our filipino customs, in the eve of Nov 1 we prepare food and offer it to the dead, someone told us we need to offer a bottle of tuba (a native wine from coconut) and a stick of tobacco because lolo is fund of it. because our foreparents did that, it was pass on thru generation to generations. but its not the offerings that matters most but its the prayers we offer to our dear departed.

We eat candy from Halloween. :) I guess there are people who take the day more seriously, but I have long suspected it was appointed to the calendar to try to fight Halloween. A Catholic thing which also happened around the Feast of Saturnalia.
