Presents for cats. Place cat nip in them and sew up, adding their name sewed on or use your imagination. Socks can also be stuffed and decorated for cute dolls and stuffed animals for gifts. Whats your idea for a homemade gift?

I design and make all sorts of felt Christmas ornaments for family and friends. I stitch them all myself(working with felt is so easy because it doesn't fray at the edges). One year I made snowflake people that all wore a hat and a scarf. It was pink hat/scarf for girls and blue for boys. Then I stitched each persons name on each scarf. My brother has since had more kids and I've had so make a few new ones now. I also have made scarves (I have very rudimentary knitting skills) when the fuzzy yarn was really big. I have made gingerbread ornaments (both felt ones and dough ones). My mother in law has a hummel collection and I have cross-stitched her a hummel design pillow one year and a wall hanging for another. I have a single friend who loves to bake but has no children or husband, so she loves Christmas. She does an assorted cookie box for all of her friends. She takes an entire day off from work every year to do this. It's become a tradition we all look forward to!

Well, what I can suggest, you can make Christmas ornaments, that's really nice, this is a really easy one. Get Styrofoam balls, not too big, and get old (it could be new) cloths that has Christmas mood or symbols in it, and some lace and thin ribbons. First, you just need to draw curved lines on the ball so that they show sections on the ball. Make about 5-8 sections. Then cut the various cloths you have to the sections of the ball, do make sure the cloth you cut is a little bigger than the section. Put the cloth over that section, and use a knitting needle, poke the cloth into the outline of the section. Once you are done with all the sections. Put lace on the ball so that you can see a little section, and then in that section, just glue the ends of a ribbon on it. Let it dry, and wa-lah.. there you go, you got a little ornament ball.. :) The other thing one can do for homemade gifts, I rather call them personalized gift, Get pictures throughout the years, and make it as a little photo album. :) You can also do it digitally since it's the digital age. You can create photo albums, or even screen savers with the pictures. You can just download the free program that is available from the internet.. :) To me, that's the one that touches the heart of the people that you care about as well. Thanks for posting this, have a great day!
