The Goo Goo Dolls has emerged as one of the greatest exponents of rock/alternative music in a career spanning fifteen years.They have emerged from the shadow of being a mere cover band for the replacements to being a beacon of originality and superbly crafted music often with deep philosophical themes .The band is often omited from greatest lists but anyone following their impressive career knows that it takes serious mettle and creativity to overcome the tumultuous times they have been through while selling millions if records and gaining global cultic following.Some may say that they are sellouts because their music has changed from garage/punk/metal to a more clean commercial even christian sound but i say its the result of a well oiled creative machinery that understands that it needs to find common ground between the needs of fans ,satisfying the musical landscape and also satisfying the desires of the band.
