I have been wanting to open an on-line trading account for a while now and with the market the way it is, I think now is the time. Stocks are very low, so it's a great time to buy. I'm somewhat optomistic and think things are going to get better. I got an offer from ShareBuilder to open an account, and once I make a trade they will give me $50. I know they will because they are part of Ing and I've gotten my bonus from them when I opened an account there. So, today I opened my ShareBuilder account and scheduled a $100 transfer for Tuesday. I'll be buying stock in 6 different companies that have done well in the past and look to do well again once the economy gets back on track. I think the most I spent on a share was a little over $9 and the least I spent on a share was $0.26. I can afford to lose $100 right now, so I'm not too awfully worried about it, but on the upside, I stand to gain a couple/few thousand. Are any of you taking advantage of the low stock prices and buying now while you can?

Funny I should be reading this discussion right now. I just finished reading an email about stocks and a robot that helps you make tons of money on stocks. Well unfortunately for me, I have no money to trade. I think I will stick with mylot for a little while longer. Cheers!!

I don't have a whole lot, but I'm putting a little bit in to see what happens. I don't know if I'm doing any better than a robot, but I think I should do ok!

I think it would be a good idea. I do not know that we can afford to do it, it depends on when I get some of my payments in from my online work. It is nice to hear that share builder is reliable, because I have thought of going with them. Thanks for this helpful discussion. I even think that I have them bookmarked.

Quite a few of our clients have accounts with ShareBuilder too so that helped with my confidence level also. They have some decent plans, I also took advantage of the first month free on the Standard plan, then I'm switching to the Basic that has no monthly requirements.
