Grease is a movie that's filled with good music and great fun. It's humorous, although there are some serious moments in there when Sandy and Danny have trouble's with their relationship, because Danny is out to impress his buddies more so than anything else, even though deep down he really does feel as serious about Sandy as she does about him. It isn't until in the movie that he sees her out with an athlete that he really realizes how much she really means to him within his own heart. So Danny decides to take life seriously, and tries out for the track team, of which he later letters in. He does all this to show Sandy that he is serious about doing something good and useful with his life and that he really wants a future with her. Sandy dresses like the Pink Ladies so she can impress Danny. What they soon find out is that it's their love for each other that's most important regardless of what image they take on.
