in any circumstances, would you deny it when you are already married?

i just can't imagine how a lady officemate able to declare that she is still single when she joined the company, not until now, when our immediate head discovered that she is already married without further notice to the company!
she work as a contractual employee, her records shows that she is single at the time she entered the company. but one incident happened lately when our Branch head met her somewhere in the bus station together with a guy, and surprisingly, she introduce the guy as her husband, so my Branch head was caught by surprise and speechless.
days later, our Branch Head required her to update her civil status in her 201 files and require to submit as well a marriage contract as a supporting document. and so she did. the rumors spread faster, but what is not good? the date of her marriage happened a YEAR ago before she got employed with the company! in short, she is already married when she joined the company, yet she declared that is still single. what kind of a person is that? right now she is asked to explain in writing about the incident.
how about you, have you come accross with people like that? and what if you are the husband, how would you feel that your wife is denying the fact that is already married? i do not like to judge, but what she is doing is perjury, and for me, she should not be absorb for regularization for she is not worth it. what do you think?

i am not married at the moment so i have no husband to deny.
in the olden days some employers would prefer not hire woman if the were married or recently married.
this is because they thought there was more chance of her becoming pregnant and requiring maternity leave.
it is illegal noe for employers to discriminate against married women.
maybe this is why she kept her marriage a secret.

well you got a point there, but keeping a marriage secret for the sake of your job would be unfair to the company and more, to her husband. i just wonder how that "fact" surpassed during the background investigation which is done prior to employment.
