what do you do after your best friend's boyfriend assaults you?

i have a friend that i have been friends with for 8yrs and she has been with her boyfriend for 5yrs. well her boyfriend assaulted me in the worst way i resisted of course. but i told my friend of the hurtful thing that he had did to me and she hasn't talked to me since, but she is still with him. i went to press charges but there was no p3n3trati0n and it was my word against his they say, so he was not charged. i feel like i'm the one being punished i wish this hadn't happened but i miss my friend should i try to work out our friendship even though i was the one that got hurt or forget it and move on with my life???
