Did somebody read how win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie  

I have also read How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Yes it is possible to have someone do what you want if you present it in the correct way. Now let's say you and another person have the same problem and you want to fix the problem your way and the other person has a whole different way of solving the problem. You could say to that person we are going to fix this problem my way which then the other person will get angry and upset because he wanted to do it his way. Now the correct way. You go up to the person and explain that you both have the same problem and would like his ideas and opinion on how to fix it. You listen then say something like yes that is a great idea but what do you think of this. Then you tell the person your idea on how to fix the problem and explain why you feel it is the better way. 99.9% of the time they will say ya why don't we do it that way.

Another example is at one time I was a supervisor and we had a quota to meet. Well I had one employee that just did not seem motivated. This emplyee never met his quota for his machine.Now I could have gone up and yelled and screamed but I knew that would not help. Instead I stood there watching him for awhile then walked up to him and said.You realy know how to work that machine and you are doing a great job. You put out 100 parts today. (The quota called for 250 parts per day.) I then stated that he was good again but that Putting out 250 parts every day was beyond his capabilities and it was nice that he was doing 100 parts a day. At this I congratulated him one more time and walked away.

The next day he put out 255 parts and from that time forward he continualy put out 250 or more. Why did he do this? First he wanted to prove me wrong and make me look like a fool. Which he did. Secondly he found out that he could put out the required amount and it was not as hard as he thought to do it. After that all the other workers kept trying to match or go beyond him. I received the satisfaction that I got what I wanted from him. He got the satisfaction that he put one over on the boss and everybody was happy.
