i believ Carbon Credits is a form of exploitation

I think the way carbon credits are being used now is exploitive. The aim of carbon credit is to control the overall carbon footprint of the world by assigning limits to companies and even countries. This is in itself a novel idea laced with good intentions however, the instant they attached a dollar value to it, defeated the purpose somewhat. Now what obtains is a situation where an industrial company in the developed world can buy credits from a developing country and use that to increae it's carbon footprint and hence its bottom line.Granted before they can do that they have to finance some "green project" that can reduce the developing country's footprint by the amount it needs to buy.In my view this is like saying I am richer and more powerful than you so I have more right to pollute than you .To give an example a coal factory in say Idaho is given a limit of 40000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year but wants to increase its profit by twenty percent this year .The problem though is in it scurrent operation it is already emmiting the 40000 tonnes of carbon dioxide allotted already and would need to put out an additional ten thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide to meet this target. What it then seeks to do is maybe sponsor a solar project in a thirld world country like Dominica to reduce the carbon footprint of that country by the ten thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide. This in my view is exploiting the finacial needs of Dominica in order to fuel capitalist gains while keeping the carbon footprint of the world constant, it doesnt reduce total footprint. In addition Dominica's indutrial output is reduced hence also its ability to take car of its people. All that happens is that Dominica contributes less to the pollution. The total pollution is not reduced.
