Windows Vista is the latest OS on the scene, but it is too heavy on resources and is much slower as compared to Windows XP, although it is much better in looks because of the 3d graphics. Although it consumes almost as much power as Windows XP, it us much slower. Waht do we do to optimise Vista and which is the vbvest software awaialable for tweaking it?

I am using Vista Ultimate for quite sometimes now and I do not have any performance issue. In fact it is performing better than my other computer running on XP.
I do not use any tweak on my computer that is running Vista. But make sure that you have sufficient RAM to handle the processing needs. 2GB is the minimum if you ask me as 1GB is barely sufficient for Vista only and you need to run other things such as a web browser, office applications and other stuffs.
The other thing that I did was to turn off all the fancy enhanced graphical stuffs such as the aero thingy and make it run as if I am running the old XP. With those enhanced options turned off, you would notice that it would be lighter.
One of the first thing that I got rid of are those gadgets on the desktop. It is nice to look at but after a while you can do without it and that saves your resources as well.
Hope that I have given you some ideas on Vista. Cheers!
