Hello ice, it's my first winter here in UK so im stil having a climate shock. Im not get to used of cold that's why i always on the heaters too and fireplace. Aside from the heaters and fireplace, i wear lots of layers of thick jumpers. Yes, my skin gets dryer too so used lots of moisturizers. I never go out with my wet hair, i always blow dry it and always clean your ears so you get protected. Aside from skin problem, im having hair problem too, coz it's getting dry but i discover a good shampoo and conditioner that really suits my hair. That is tresseme! hehehe

i can understand if it is a first time you are experiencing the winters here then it is difficult at start but later you will be used to and then everything will be fine so dont worry but it is going to be more severe in the comming days, i am not scaring you but you will enjoy snow and it is good to see and as you tell it is your first time that you are seeing this winter, so i am sure you will like the snow. skin problems are more in winters i feel as the skin becomes dry due to cold and also because heaters are on also the skin is effected.

We use natural gas to heat our home, but I have noticed that during the winter my hands become really chapped. I think it is from the cool air. So I try to use alot of body lotion, or moisturizer. I helps out alot. Also try avoid going outside right after you shower, because it just makes it worse. Hope that was helpful.

yes it is helpfull that we share our experiences, yes even i use body lotions more as we ladies specially have the work of cooking also and we need to use water again and again and it will lead to dryness again and to keep the hands moisturised we need to use lotions but in winters i feel more of problems and i have heaters working from gas.

We have put the fireplace occasionally on but we have not started using heaters yet. We have bought gas cylinders just in case we have to make use of them. I do think that heaters can cause skin dryness yes. It is always advisable to leave a window half open for air to circulate. © ronaldinu 2008
