biten by DOG

If you are in the US and you can find out where the dog lives, you can have an animal control officer go check the dog to make sure it is up to date with its shots. Just be carefull with this because sometimes they will want to put the animal down. If the dog has a history of such things, it may be apropriate to have the dog put down, but there are also a lot of situations where an otherwise very nice dog might bite someone if it is scared or provoked. I have been bitten by dogs twice. Once while riding my bike and another when I was breaking up a fight between two dogs (one was my own)

I have only been bitten by my own dogs when trying to break up a fight. My suggestion is to find the owner of the dog to make sure it does not have rabies. I would also contact the authories because the dog will have to go into quartine. Also what manner did the dog bite you? I would also want the dog to be check out my a behaviorist to make sure it is not human aggresive. If it is human aggresive than I would want the dog to be put down.

Go to the doctor. Get a tetnus shot. Your are lucky you got it on the leg. I was bitten on the face. I have a small scar on my nose as a reminder.
