Recommended to anyone who read the Giver

if you really liked the Giver I would recommend you next read Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry and then The Messenger also by Lois Lowry.
Gathering Blue is about a girl named Kira who lives in a primative society which does not allow deformed children to live. Miraculosly Kira has lived to grow up despite a club foot. After her mother dies she is asked to repair a very special cerimonial rope.
The Messenger has Characters from both books.

Thanks for the recommendation, kittenskysong. I loved The Giver and I read The Messenger but not Gathering Blue yet. I am a huge fan of youth novels. I really like Lois Lowry.
I read a good one recently titled The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne. It was amazingly well written. There has been a movie made of it and it is coming out soon.

Wait, I got that wrong, I have read Gathering Blue but not The Messenger yet. Now you have motivated me to read it. I'm pretty sure I saw it on my shelf the other day.

Hi kittenskysong! I am interested in the Gathering Blue. Lois Lowry is a very good writer. His works are very inspiring and they make you think deep about life in general. I wish I could find this novel online so I could just download it
