We just got a new thermostat, and it seems to be working...

Earlier in the week, we were having problems with our heat. All through the night, the fan ran constantly, blowing cold air. We noticed that the heat was turning off, but the fan wasn't. My husband - always the let's try to fix it ourselves to save a few bucks (even though we have no clue what we're doing) - wanted to try a new thermostat to see if that would work. Well, I'd rather call a professional that knows what they're doing, let them fix it right and just pay for it - instead of spending a ton of money trying different things that we have no clue about, then calling the pros. Since we don't really have the money right now, we were turning the unit off when we left the house to save a little on the electric bill. I got to thinking though, I have been wanting to get one of the time-controlled thermostats so that we can program it to not run as much while we're not home, but heat back up for us when we are here. So we went and got one tonight and put it in. So far it seems to be working pretty good... I hope it does help with the electric bill too!!! My husband did tell me "see, I told you it was the thermostat". Yeah, but if I had let him go buy a new one, he'd have gotten the same cheap one that we had before! He wasn't happy about spending $100 on this one, but we'll most likely recoup that in our first month.
