she has 4 refrigerators, 3 freezers, and several coolers... food is rotting, 7 cats, 2 small children and she still is rationalizing that in some way it is excusable??
I watched all the parts of the Dr. Phil segment relating to the ex-nurse hoarding.. it is just plain sad... pathetic actually. I don't know what to really say here... it is just amazing that there are people like that. The only semi-positive thing is that she admits that she has a problem but keeps coming up with partial justifications for everything... wow...

actually i just found this video on youtube because of what i saw in oprah show about compulsive hoarding and it can actually be found in youtube too...now back to the video...i was really shocked by the behavior of this woman and she is even trying to justify herself...she even hates the friend who wrote to dr. phil about her condition...i just could find the sense in her anymore and i am just hands down to her because she admitted that she has a huge problem.

It is gross. It is a compulsion to hoard things. This woman's addiction made her house difficult to live in. I was so perplexed to see all this as I did not believe that such people do exist.

yes those kind of people do exist and they try to hide it from everyone else because they are ashamed of it and talk about low esteem.

I agree... it is really shocking... this is the first time that i have seen such a thing... hoarding all those stuff... never throwing away anything... and the worst thing is... those kids had to go through that... i never thought such a condition ever existed... and i know people who hates cleaning... but this woman is totally nuts about not cleaning her houses...

and what is worst is the boyfriend is letting it happen...i myself could not imagine living in a house like that..i mean i am not a clean freak and my room could get messy at times when my kids plays and i feel lazy cleaning up all the mess that they made but when i see clutter and garbage all around me i feel so stresses out and i could not get it out of my mind..so i have no choice but to clean...and have you seen their fridges and the freezers?its all yucky!!!

Oh the mother is has psychological problem. She needs help! Imagine hoarding those things to the point of cluttering her house till it became like a dumping site. My goodness, something is really wrong with her. I can't stand clutters. This is the reason why I readily give away anything around the house that I do not use anymore. Be it furniture, appliances, food, clothing, bags, shoes, kitchen utensils. I don't like things standing in my house useless. I would rather just give away to people who could make use of them. Actually I've just read at YES magazine an article about Lucy Torres and Richard Gomez and I was quite surprised to learn that Lucy Torres is a clinger. Oh she would not throw things away because of sentimental value. In fact she and Richard have bought container vans to contain all their excesses and they are renting a lot somewhere in Manila to park those vans. Imagine even wasting money just to store items they don't even use? I don't know but I found it not a matter of neatness anymore. I find a touch of stinginess in being a clinger. I believe if anything I own has been replaced by a new one or I really am not using anymore I should rather give away. Actually a friend posted a good discussion here at myLot about this habit of being a clinger. A clinger is almost the same as that woman in the video who hoarded so much things in her home that led to her children's miserable condition inside. That woman though is pathetic and I think she should be cured. Lucy Torres on the other hand do not hoard around her house because she is actually a very organized tidy woman who stores things neatly and properly. But she will not throw away even a broken part of a computer with the hope that she could fix it and be of use someday. She said she got this character from her parents. No wonder they are super super rich. But why not share part of their riches to others! When they die they can't bring all those possessions in their grave!

yes she has psychological problems because of all the trauma that she is experiencing...dr. phil mentioned that the house is a mess and its like a mirror to what is going inside of the person..its a total mess also.

Hi ya andak2007
Blimey this is unbeleiveable and disgusting. I feel so much for the kids it is so far from a normal life. The husband needs to get some gumption and say right that's enough and help her get things sorted. She is a nurse for goodness sake!! She must understand about health and safety and show some sort of compasion towards her poor kids. Crikey they must all stink too! She obviously needs help like phycological help, how can she make her family live like that? What happened next?
