Grapes or raisins? According to this article, that may not be a safe thing! http://www.cvm.umn.edu/newsandevents/facts/petsafety/Grapes.html The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center has received more than 50 well-documented reports of dogs developing acute kidney failure after ingesting grapes or raisins. I was searching the internet for kidney disease in dogs because my sister's 6 month old boxer puppy is in the hospital with apparent kidney failure. Moose is not doing very well at all. His BUN is 294, the normal is 8-28. His little kidneys are not working properly. After I found this article, I asked her to ask her children if they got raisins for trick or treating and gave them to the dog. I hope they didn't. Can you imagine how they would feel if they were responsible for him getting sick? Please pray for poor Moose. Thank you.

Thank you for your good thoughts. Unfortunately, they took Moose for a second opinion this morning. The second vet said the same as the first. If he was going to get better, he would have by now started to show some improvement. He was suffering. As my niece said, they sent him to be with the angels this morning.

Poor little Moose. Hope he get well soon. Thank you for showing this information. I never realize raisin or grape will be harmful to dogs. My dogs used to have a few when I was eating last time. Luckily I seldom buy any grape because it is an expensive fruit here in my country, I guess my dogs are safe.

It is so hard to resist sharing when pets give you their pitiful poor me looks. This article makes me think twice about that! I will always keep appropriate treats for my little one now. I cannot bear the thought of accidentally poisoning her. Grapes are awfully expensive here too! The last time I looked, they were more than 4 bucks a pound.
