havent talk to my daughters father for a while

i told you all about my daughter that i gave up 25 years ago she and i are talking now alot.however the last time i talked to her father it did not go so well i dont think he expecteded my daughter and i would get along this well.we had talked about her moving closer i mentioned this to her dad and i think it hit him kind of hard she said her dad would have to come with her because they have never been apart that is fine with me.however i think he is afraid she may move away from him to be near.i understand and would never want to take her from him completeley he has always been there for her.but i feel like our last conversation did not go so well.what should i do?i am feling kind of bad for him.

Well, I think that you should tell him exactly how you feel. Start with saying that you feel that your conversation last time did not go well and ask him if you have somehow offended him or said or done something that he didn't like. Hopefully, he will open up and you two can talk about it. Try to involve him more on future plans, future gatherings or even small celebrations so he wouldn't feel left out.
