I'll admit that I'm not the neatest person in the world, - I'm more of a piles person! I don't know if I could handle my life with 6 boys and a husband if I was a neat freak! Living with them is almost like living in a tornado! LOL! So, are you a neat freak or a total slob?

This is a very good discussion, and that is a very good question and because I am sure that there are a lot of people out there who are neat freaks and have to have everything neat and tidy and clean and can not stand to have things in a mess or to have things out of place and then I am sure that there are a lot of people out there who are the total opposite and can not stand to have things clean and prefer to live in a total mess, and then I am sure there are people who are in the middle and can either be very neat or very messy depending on their mood, that is cool that you are not the neatest person in the world, and that you are more of a piles person, and yeah it would probably be hard to handle things if you were a neat person especially if your husband and six boys are very messy, and that sucks that living with them is almost like living in a tornado, even though it might be a neat experience to live in a tornado lol,and I am definitely a neat freak and I have always been,I think it is partly because I have been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder so I can not stand to have things out of place, and whenever I or someone else moves something my first instinct is to movie it back in its proper place,I remember when I had my Game Cube one of my friends moved it like half a centimeter, and I walked in the room, walked straight over to it and moved it back where it was supposed to me,my friend was shocked that I could tell, and at least I can say my room never did get messy, and my closet always stayed orderly, and now that my fiance lives with me,we both keep the room clean, and she understands that I do not like having stuff moved, and she helps me fix stuff, and unlike my mom, when me and my fiance dust, she helps me make sure things go back where they are supposed to be.

I think I'm more in the middle but I learn way more towards being a neat freak. Sometimes I don't always clean or keep things neat and orderly but I do enjoy knowing that things are clean and that I can navigate my way through my living space without stepping on dirty clothing, trash and other items. It bugs me when people are just so slobbish and don't really care much about the other people they live with because someone has to clean it up and it usually ends up with me cleaning up.

I have never been a neat freak. I used to go to my aunts (who is a neat freak) And she drove me crazy with all of her worries about her house getting messy. Dhe even made me take my shoes off when I came to her house.Me?? My house is never spotless, you will always find some magazines or newspapers lying around. The dishes get done once a day. and if we get a bit of dirt on the carpet. Oh well. I wont sweat the small stuff.

I used to be a mess freak, I loved messes. Now that my fiance and I are living together I can't afford to be a mess freak. I will admit I don't mind leaving shoes out for a week or more, and even sweaters... but I also know that my fiance isn't bothered by that either. So when it comes to being a neat freak, I have to say that it's limited to the way things are organized. Speaking of which, my fiance isn't much for rearranging. I love it, or used to love it. When I first met him, I so wanted to rearrange our room. He hates rearranging.

I'm probably somewhere in the middle. I'm definitely not a neat freak or a total slob. I'm not entirely sure where I stand but definitely somewhere in the middle.

I am definately a slob. I know it feels good to have a special place for everything at first, but after a few seconds I just start scrambling everything up. I lose things very often so it's much more reassuring this way. See, if I lose my pen and I notice it's not in the pen container like it always should be, I would freak out, if I have a big pile of stuff, I'm confident that it's going to be somewhere in the pile. If you just throw everything into the pile, you can't lose any thing!

great idea for a discussion! I am in my heart a total slob. I hate to clean. I tell my husband that constantly. Heck, i tell everyone who comes in my house that i'm a slob. However as much as i hate cleaning I still do it techically its my "job" since i'm a stay at home mom and the kids are in school all day i have no choice but to clean the house. It'd be a huge mess otherwise (my husband between commuting & work is out of the house over 12 hours a day.) I do take lots of short cuts (lots of drawers with junk in them and such.lol) I also try very hard to get the kids to help although it's harder than pulling teeth at times.

Well, I used to be a neat freak, but now that I have a wife and four kids, it's almost impossible to be. :) It seems like as soon as I get everything cleaned up and put away, it's time to start all over again. Ughhh. :)
