Natural catastrophes .. Hurricanes, earthquakes, sunamis, tornados: God?

Do you think that God uses nature to speak to people? Do you believe that He allows things to happen to bring people closer to Him? Do you think God punishes sins of nations with immense catastophes ?
I know some times fundamentalists will say GOd is punishing the earth but I find it hard to believe that God who is good and loving wishes the death of anyone ..even a sinner..
Isn't it in Scripture "God doesn't desire the death of a sinner but that he convert and be saved?"

I fully agree, there is a verse in proverbs that says that he will use typhoons and strong winds or something like that to show that you better believe. i will comment again ocne i find the verse for you. good question!

I know he may use these catastrophes..but I also believe that many people pass away in tragedies that are truly God fearing people.. So the good and bad suffer at the hands of untamed nature.
