Action is the only way anything ever gets done. Sitting around and waiting for life to happen to you will only guarantee one thing: that you're not going to end up with a life you love. By waiting, you can react to what's tossed your way and nothing more. It's easy to take a passive approach to life without taking chances. It's easy to fall into a rut and do the same things the same way all the time. Change is sometimes hard, but it's change that will reveal all the wonders that life has to offer. You can break out of your set ways by taking action. Try doing the same thing a different way. Jump in with both feet and learn something new. Ask a friend to teach you a skill they're good at. Grow as a person and your world grows with you.

I started doing that back in my mid 20s...I went on a two yr soul search within myself and started to rebuild so to speak and i can honestly say it was the greatest thing I've ever done for myself....here I am now at 38 and the difference in myself, my life etc is amazing..Of course its an ongoing thing too..Personal growth never stops if one chooses for it not to ya know..

You have created a very interesting discussion and I agree with everything you say! I used to have the mindset where I would think that everything good was coming to me! There was only one problem with this view, I wasn't taking any action! Then I started reading self-help books and I have also been listening to Anthony Robbins, he has a set of life coaching cds. He emphasises the point that action is necessary in order to achieve what you want in life. Have I achieved everything that I want in life? Not yet! I am working on this though! Obviously there are no guarantees that you will get or achieve what you want, but by taking regular action there's a good chance that you will possibly get what you want out of life! So, I create goals and I refer back to them on a monthly basis, I do this to make sure that I am on track. I continue reading self-help books as they contain terrific material for the mind, call it food for the brain! I'm not that keen when it comes to change but I do accept that this is necessary at times in order to move forward in life. Good luck with your own life planning. Andrew

its true, even now i have a passive approach to life not only at work but as in general, think i am not that confident and i fear of losing what i have now ... i am totally relaxed but it wont solve my problems it goes on building what was once a problem now gets accumulated and causes a severe trouble so i think its good to end our comfort level and face more challenges
