They say Blogging is Dead, What Say You? |
| |
| I read this article from one of the blogs in Britannica and I am a little disappointed. Its main thesis is that is that Blogging is nearing to its demise or maybe already dead. What pissed me off is that I am just learning how to blog then people are claiming it dead already. Hey, what's wrong with this people. As long as people can think, blogging will not die, Am I right? | | | | | |

| | I do not think blogging is dead. I think it's really just starting and hasn't yet reached its full potential. My philosophy is, if you have something to say, if it's interesting and you know how to articulate it in an intelligent manner, then there will always be someone, somewhere willing to read you. Hey I might be wrong, but it's my take on the subject. Happy blogging! | | | | | | |

| | I would not be put off by something one person has written in an article. Just because it appears on a blog in Britannica does not make it true. It is the writer's own opinion, and maybe the article provides some convincing evidence, but bloggers are still free to agree or disagree. I think blogging has changed since it started and blogs are used more for making money and for promoting links. Originally blogs were used only to express opinions and comment on life, politics, reglion or any subject the blogger chose to write about. Now there are millions of almost identical blogs that just list money making sites and offer little insight or personal experiences of earning online. I think there will always be a place for original blogs that express real ideas, and share valuable information, rather than just being lists of links and banner ads. | | | | | | |

| | Well, I do not think blogging is dead yet. There are still many active bloggers going around, so don't be disappointed by just a blog post. Nowadays, even some companies use blogs to update their company news, it's not only for personal use anymore. | | | | | | |

| | That is full of bull if you ask me. I do not see anyway or anytime that blogging is dead. In fact in Malaysia, blogging is still being considered a new thing and many have taken the ride of this big wave of blogging. It is no longer a platform for for a normal guy or an average Joe or Jane wanting to rant about their lives but it has become a platform for business related transactions, political campaigns, social and communities stuffs and many more. Blogging may be dead for who ever that wrote that article and if it is a thesis, i wonder who was the dumb a%# that got it accepted and approved for publication. You are right, for as long as people can think and for as long as there is life in this planet, blogging would not die. Blogging might not be quite the same many years from now but that is simply evolution and definitely not death. Cheers! | | | | | | |

| | You shouldn't let someone's opinion piss you off, especially when they don't know what they're talking about. Blogging is alive and well, and according to the statistics I come across every once in a while, there's no slowdown in the number of blogs being created. I agree with paid2write that there is a huge trend of blogs being created for no other reason than to make money, usually by telling other people how to make money, but there has always been and will always be a huge variety of blogs. They're popular as personal journals, and thousands of them are for information or opinions. Blogging will die when the internet dies. Not to worry. | | | | | | |

| | Hello, I checked your profile and it's nice to find fellow Pinoys here. I do not believe that blogging is dead. In fact at the moment, I have 4 blogs ( I know many have more than that) and I am trying to make news ones. I make a decent amount of money by blogging ( at least $500 a month). So how can blogging be be dead when there are a lot of advertisers and affiliates promoting their products by buying links and ad spaces on blogs? I hope you do not get discouraged by that person's remark. Maybe he's just not trying his best and giving and effort to blogging that's why he does not see any fruit from it. Pls check my blog too. | | I wouldn't say that blogging is dead at all. I just think that maybe what we know to be blogging will evolve along with the times and the internet. So, maybe traditional blogging is on the way out - but there will always be some remnant of it to master. | | | | | | |
