I love stories like this! Who needs Lilian Jackson Braun when there are cats like Peaches making the news! (BTW - I LOVE Lilian Jackson Braun's books.) Check out this video about how Peaches saved her family (and Christmas, of course) and is justifiably deserving of lots and lots of special treats. http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/weird/Good_Kitty__All__National_.html She just seems like the best natured little thing, doesn't she? Just sitting there, not a care in the world that there are strangers in the room - more of a "ho hum, this is boring" kind of mood, I think. But, she knew something was wrong and alerted her "mom" to it and that's what matters most! Hero cats....gotta love 'em!! Wouldn't it be great if Peaches were showered in gifts this Christmas??

That's a GREAT story! My client had a friend who's cat got him out of his cabin in time to save his life when it caught on fire.

Way I heard it, she got him, his dog and herself out and split for parts unknown and didn't come back for 6 months. But he did make much ado over her when she did.

This is such a great story.. A couple of nights ago both of our dogs came rushing to our room..The male dog on my husbands side and the female on my side...The female boxer was hiding on my side of the bed and I was like what is going on.. Next thing I hear is a chirping sound..which was coming from downstairs...It was our livingroom smoke alarm... There wasn't a fire but the battery must have been low.... I think it was the chirping that brought them upstairs... My husband changed the battery and the dogs were more comfortable after that..

My parents' dog didn't like anything that had a high pitch or wheels, so he'd probably have done the same thing if he didn't already sleep with them. But, I would hope that they would also do likewise if the alarms went off. That way you be guaranteed to wake up.

I have a smoke alarm on all three floors...and I am sure they would make a fuss if there was a fire... I just pray that there never is a fire..I watched my neighbors house burn to the ground last year and just stood there and cried...

Animals can usually sense something is wrong, but when they decide to clue us in as well, they are definitely putting two and two together!! She was a very smart little girl who deserves a whole lot of goodies from Santa.

Peaches is a beautiful cat. That is a very smart and loving cat for sure and I agree, Peaches needs a stocking hung for Christmas and it needs to be filled up along with presents under the tree.

Peaches deserves a full stocking and then some, definitely. Lots and lots of catnip to be offered ONLY during day time, of course, and plenty of her favorite cat food for Christmas dinner!
