Does anyone else never drink alcohol? Do you always drink alcohol?

I drink on a very rare occasion, I don't find it great to not have control over my own body, I've been drunk once but not to my taste.

I have also never drank alcohol. I feel sure that I would not like it if I ever tried it. I like your idea about green tea!:) That is very creative!:)

I must admit I don't drink that much when i'm at home I see myself as more of a social drinker. Normally I tend to have five or six drinks on a friday or saturady night but very rarely drink during the weekdays as i've got work and have to be in a fit state to drive the next day. Occasionally if it's a birthday or during christmas/new year time I do indulge in a little more booze...but I do know my limits. Was very ill once when I was younger and got so drunk that night I couldn't even stand up my legs just kept caving in from under me...because of that night I know my limits with alcohol and like to think I enjoy it responsibly. Normally start on a strong drink and work my way down througher the tamer drinks as the night progresses. This way it gives my body a chance to sober up before I go to bed when I get in.

I do agree many of the acoholoc drinks do have an acquired taste especially when mixed but some drinks are very very nice and taste more of fruit than alcohol.

Each Culture and to that the individual will choose if they will drink Alcohol or not,

I drink, Alcohol, Beer, Rum, and whiskey. But I may say it does not control my life and When I do drink I enjoy it.

I do also at times not drink or feel like drinking and no matter how I get offered I do not drink, they can pour me a drink, pass me a drink, I inform the person I am not drinking, and thats it.

There is no kindness in offering a drink to a person who does not want it, in fact it is a sign of rudeness.

I make it very clear Im not drinking so dont offer or I may be rude to you.

I do not take a drink and waste it by pouring it away, I see the drink as a FOOD item and I have been taught not to waste food.

It may not be the food we eat or drink, but that does not give us the right to waste it, no matter what our Culture or Beliefs are.

Yes, I drink wine sometimes. I do not like to get drunk, but a few glasses is enough for me. There is some who get drunk every weekend and go to work the next day half drunk. This must feel awful for them. I do not like being around really drunk nasty people. I get frightened by them.

good for you. i don't drink either. i use to drink some years ago when i'd go out . i have had so much heartache from 2 alcohlics in my life i would never do that to my family.

I do drink alcohol. Beer has a bitter taste but I like it when it is cold. Cocktail drinks are my most favorite drinks as some are sweet in taste and it like just drinking soda or juice. They will not even get you easily drunk. It's true that in parties, it is hard to avoid to drink but when I don't want to have a drink I consistently says Thank you but I think I will not have a drink today.

Hi hiddenwing, That is a great idea and I'm pleased that you have found a way to stay away from something that you don't like anyway. Alcohol is not good for the system and we should not drink it. Having said that I must confess to taking a social drink on certain occasions, not because someone insists but because I feel like it at the time, and in a minimum amount it probably does little harm. My point is I control it, and I choose if I wish to take a drink or not. Blessings.

I have never drank alcohol. I can't even tell you what it tastes like. I do know that beer looks like urine. I was raised by a raging alcoholic and swore that I would not do that to my kids. I never hung out with people who drank never went to wild parties. Now the only people I spend time with are my kids people from church.

I don't drink at all. My parents never did, their parents never did, it is just the way we were brought up. A lot of people in churches drink, a lot of them don't. I happen to belong to a church that does not drink. Even if I didn't belong to a church that doesn't drink, I wouldn't drink anyway. I'm on medication for some health problems, and I can't mix that with alcohol.
